ABOUT US

About Us

A full story of Our organisation

In the winter of 2014, Youth Thirst CIC was founded and built upon the strong belief that every young person deserves a place of safety which they can call home, whilst taking positive steps and beginning the journey of positive change. A place where young people are seen, heard, and supported through the difficult and often life-changing times. The Youth Thirst CIC team are committed to equipping, empowering, and encouraging all who come through our doors to not only dream of change, but to successfully attain their goals and aspirations, and become the change that they once dreamed of. We do this by offering a holistic, person-centred support approach. Meeting the individual where they are at, and working together to compile an achievable Support Plan, which is reviewed periodically (according to the individual’s needs). Our team primarily focusses on practical support. Ensuring that our service users learn everyday life-skills, such as – personal hygiene and healthcare, housekeeping, budgeting, shopping, and bill paying. In addition to this, we support our service users to liaise and engage with other services and vital appointments. The support with offer reaches far beyond the doors of Youth Thirst as we provide an after-care service in the form of Floating Support, for those who have moved on from our accommodation. This is to ensure that the transition from supported accommodation to living independently, is as smooth as can be, and that the individual still has a level of support that promotes independence and maintains their dignity
To reduce youth homelessness by combining safe housing, practical skill-building, and sustained after-care support.
To see vulnerable young people transition from survival to stability, and from stability to purpose.
Our Values

Values That Guide Our Mission

Collaboration

We work closely with other services, including mental-health teams, housing providers, community groups, and training organisations, because real progress happens when support systems work together.

Empowerment

We help young people build the confidence and skills they need to take control of their own lives. From budgeting to education to daily routines, everything we do is designed to help them move toward independence.

Compassion

Every young person who walks through our doors is met with patience, understanding, and a willingness to listen. Whether someone needs emotional support, help rebuilding relationships, or guidance through personal challenges, we show up without judgment.

Responsibility

We teach young people the practical responsibilities that come with independent living: managing money, keeping healthy, preparing meals, attending appointments, and understanding house rules and agreements. These are the foundations that help them build stable futures.

Team MEmbers

Empowering Individuals Through Holistic Person-Centred Support

Every member of our team is dedicated to supporting young people as they take control of their lives, develop essential skills, and move confidently into independence. We provide the practical guidance and nurturing environment that helps them become the best version of themselves
